BMW Hybrid Car
Joining the number of Car manufacturers that have been
concerned for the growing demand for environment friendly cars,
German car manufacturing giant BMW has announced that they too
would
soon be producing and selling Hybrid cars. Within the next
four years, BMW will be providing its own version of the
phenomenal and popular hybrid car.
Since BMW is a leader in the market we can expect that their
efforts in automotive hybrid engineering will set a standard
for others follow.
BMW said that their BMW Hybrid car would run on both
Hydrogen and petroleum and this would be first infused in the 7
series BMW. Already, BMW has some of these cars test driven in
different countries. Engineers and researchers are testing and
seeking feedback to refine their 1st hybrid auto release. BMW
is seeking a car design that will be truly friendly to the
environment as well as aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
BMW is changing from the normal fuel cells utilized by other
hybrid car makers to using hydrogen fuel combined with a
gasoline engine. More research and development was needed for
this move due to the engine demand to retain the hydrogen in
liquid form, so there was a problem in keeping it cold enought
to do that. The hydrogen will evaporate when the engine becomes
hot requiring you to fill up more often. One other problem is
preventing the hydrogen from condensing while in route the the
engine. But BMW has said that it has found the solution to this
problem.
Hydrogen is the remedy however it will take around 20 more
years before a hydrogen only car can be produced. But they are
positive that this is very achievable.
For the last 30 years BMW has claimed to be developing the
technology that could lead to the very first true hybrid
automobile. They already have a car that is being powered by
water, a car that emits water vapor at the tailpipe, and are
able to retrieve hydrogen from sunlight.
Hydrogen is being considered by BMW as the main power source to
power their vehicles since it will provide a solution the the
current emission problems that are polluting our environment.
This is because hydrogen doesn’t have dangerous emissions, it
poses no harm to the atmosphere, it doesn’t deplete natural
resources, as it can be take from numerous recyclable sources.
This is BMW's solution, powering vehicles with hydrogen
produced from water through the use of solar energy. This
advancement in technology is evident with the BMW 750hl
production car showcased at the Expo 2000. BMW could well be
the forefront in hybrid technology but they may be behind in
the production of hybrid car on a mass scale.
All of the innovative developments and benifits will be
realized soon enough. Not only will we able to save up on gas
money, we will also be saving the environment. Owning a Hybrid
car doesn’t have to mean riding in cramped cars with low engine
power. With the unveiling of the BMW hybrid car in the near
future, you get sophistication, power, elegance and style while
helping clean up our air.
